So says singer/musician/songwriter/producer, Calvin Rayborn. Judging from the anointed, musical ministry of his debut solo CD, HE'S THE ONE, Calvin sets the proper tone to touch the heart and soul of many with musical styles ranging from smoldering ballads to neo-soul, praising the Lord.

 

Calvin is a Native Memphian, God fearing Christian, out on the battlefield working for the Lord. He is a member of the Progressive M.B. Church in Memphis, TN, working in many auxiliaries: A member of the National Baptist Convention, USA; The Lucie Campbell Music Workshop Choir; and the Ministry to Men Foundation, Inc.

Calvin, also an accomplished drummer, has sang, and played for many groups that include The Rayborn Family which consist of his Father, Brother, and Sisters; his Cousins, Ronny Strong and The Sensational Strong Family. Calvin has toured with Doc McKenzie and The Highlights, along with The Truthetts, The Heavenly Voices of Olive Branch, MS, and June McGhee and The Fantastic Sounds of Memphis, and performed for weddings, funerals, and Church services for all occasions.

This event was taped at New Life Christian Center, Jackson, Tennessee, for the WORD TELEVISION NETWORK. Bobby Jones Gospel is seen daily on the Word Network in over 30 million homes nationwide.

 

The Chittlin' Circuit magazine published monthly in Pensacola, Florida, has rated Calvin's "This Joy" from his CD "HE'S THE ONE" for several months (2006) on the Top 30 Singles Chart. "This Joy" (click to play clip) was rated as high as # 8 on the Chart.
